General Manager of The Green Crescent Savas Yılmaz who represented The Green Crescent was elected as a member of Civil Society Task Force (CSTF) set up by Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs (VNGOC) and New York NGO Committee on Drugs (NYNGOC) in collaboration.
Civil Society Task Force (CSTF) set up by Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs (VNGOC) and New York NGO Committee on Drugs (NYNGOC) in collaboration in 2015 has been arranging 62nd Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) in Vienna, 2019.The Green Crescent that has expedited the process of international operations and established its organizations in 41 countries attended as a representative of East Europe and Central Asia in CTSF Commission which 35 countries participated to.
CTSF Commission aims to develop policies against drug addiction, review current policies and increase efficiency of NGOs in fields where government is operative. General Manager of The Green Crescent Savas Yılmaz who became a member of the committee on behalf of The Green Crescent Society pointed out dissemination and efficiency of The Green Crescent in international arena; “The Green Crescent is a member or consultant of world health authorities such as WHO, UN etc. The Green Crescent on the way to be leader NGO in addiction field on its centennial day has established 41 Country Green Crescents. It has begun to implement its activities in those countries and achieved the condition having model prevention actions in UN’s commendation. We participate in international activities to transfer our centuries-old experiences and to examine practices of other countries as a model. As a member of CTSF and a representative of East Europe and Central Asia, we will bring addiction problems of those countries, produce models and discuss over solutions in 62nd Commission on Narcotic Drugs.”
