W ith Addicta, which was
first published by the Gre-
en Crescent in 2014, it is
aimed to offer solutions to the global
problem of addiction, contribute to
the international and interdisciplinary
scientific studies on the subject, sti-
mulate discussions regarding addic-
tion, and contribute to the shaping of
addiction policies in Turkey. Publishing
various studies on both national and
international scale, the first six issues
of the journal have been published by
the end of 2016. Addicta is indexed by
Academic Search Premier (EBSCO),
Türk Psikiyatri Dizini (Turkish Psychi-
atry Index), Akademik Dizin (Index of
Turkish Academic Journals) and Dire-
ctory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

Rehabilitation and therapy are
among the most important pro-
cesses to treat all types of addic-
tion. Yeşilay has developed a newservice
model in an attempt to counter the insuf-
ficiencies in helping addicts return to a
healthy life after medical treatment.
YEDAM, the Green Crescent Counseling
Center, offers free consultation for ad-
dicts and their relatives with specialist
psychiatrists, social workers and psy-
chologists.
Addicts can call 444 79 75 (within Istan-
bul) or get in-person assistance, advice
and guidance. YEDAM offers all its ser-
vices free of charge regardless whether
or not an individual has health coverage.
Furthermore, all information, applications
and reports are confidential.
YEDAM currently operates at four cen-
ters across the country, but will expand
to 10 centers by the end of 2017.
