and TİKA joined
forces for the
international
fight against
addiction. Green

theywill struggle
against addictions
not only for Turkey
but all countries
worldwide.

he Green Crescent has signed the “Struggle
Against International Addiction” protocol with
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

Dursun, Green Crescent General Manager Savaş
Yılmaz, Green Crescent Ankara branch head Şemsettin
Toprak and TİKAVice Chairman Süreyya Er were in
attendance at the signing ceremony.
United in the fight for thewholeworld
Öztürk stressed that the scope of their fight against
addicitons is worldwide and not targeting Turkey
alone. He said, "The Green Crescent will have amore
active presence in the international arena through this
cooperation." Stating that theywill be increasing the
current number of Green Crescent branches in other
countries around theworld from22 to 30 by the end
of the year, Öztürk said, "Covering 140 countries with
50 coordination offices, TİKAwill expand the Green
Crescent's activities in these countries through this
protocol."
TİKA President Çamnoted that through the protocol,
theywill support the fight against addictions not only in
Turkey but all countries around theworld.
Joint projects in store
With the protocol, joint projects will be carried out to
identify the needs and problems in the global fight
against various addictions including alcohol, smoking,
drugs, gambling, technology among others. Both
parties will prepare public service advertisements as
well as informative and entertaining content for serving
the public and collateral and relative communities that
live abroad. Additionally, therewill be conferences,
exhibitions and symposiums organized locally and
internationally for the fight against addictions.
