SPRING 2015
and many souvenirs made of copper... It is a small bazaar which
was able to save itself from the stores around. When we left the
bazaar from its back exit door, we went on seeing coppersmiths.
Then we came across a coppersmith named Zekeriya. He said one
must work with copper for maximum two hours; otherwise all the
symmetrymight be lost.
Zekeriya showed us various copper objects including bottles, jars
and pans, which were embroidered and painted meticulously; then
he ordered a nice cup of tea for each of us. While enjoying our teas,
he mentioned the specifics of his art, and showed the beautiful
copper objects he made, which he learned from his father.
Coppersmith,
one of the first
things coming

Trabzon is
mentioned, is
still ongoing at
the bazaar in
the downtown,
even though
it does not
maintain
its former
splendor now.
