SPRING 2015
If you are lucky, you can coincide sunrise or sunset. One
of the greatest spots where you can view such unique
moments is located in a place close to the downtown:
fishermen’s buildings which seem as if they were built
on the sea. Those buildings are summerhouses for some
people, and places to get away for the others. Lying on the
seashore, almost everyone has a fishing boat on those
buildings. It is a great and distinctive joy for them to go
fishing before dawn in the morning or after dusk. Only
one armchair and one table lie inside. The ground floors of
those 2-storey places, which are like small boxes, belong
to the boats. Thanks to that, they can be lowered down
onto the sea when required.
The buildings, which used to be sold for reasonable prices,
are not quite affordable with five times higher prices. One
has a sea view there, and a place located on the sea; it is
just like the air of Bosphorus. Trabzon combines its history
with its central park, business district, stores and busy
streets. While I was about to say “I was thinking of a more
traditional place”, I came across a covered bazaar. Inside
the bazaar, I could find many things I dreamed of finding in
my imaginary Trabzon: Anchovy key rings, Temel magnets
This is Trabzon
We could not have returned fromTrabzonwithout seeing Temel,
kemancha and anchovy.. You can just drop by the fishermen’s places
if youwant to see the reality of the city. Covered Bazaar is one of the
most distinctive historic places of the city. In this small bazaar, you can
findmany things such as copper objects or souvenirs.
