Scott King, had also acted the same historical
character in another film titled Boycott
produced in 2001. Even though the film stalls
at some points while it tries to reflect historical
facts directly, that direct look turns Selma
into a more honest and conscientious one for
its audience. The film also was appreciated by
critics in the United States.
