provide support to National
Green Crescent organizations in
their struggles against addiction
at all four corners of the globe
through
its
International
Financial
Assistance
Program.
Green
Crescent’s
International
Financial
Assistance
Program
aims to ensure the institutional
sustainability of National Green
Crescent organizations, while at
the same time enhancing their
capacity, influencing anti-addiction
policies and building advocacy
infrastructure.
Encouraging
National
Green
Crescent
organizations to carry out advocacy,
scientific research and prevention
works in their respective countries,
the
International
Financial
Assistance Program is also intended
to aid National Green Crescent
organizations in acquiring the
necessary physical and technical
infrastructure that will allow them
to operate more efficiently.
Program implemented in 26
countries
While striving to develop its
international Financial Assistance
Program for 2019, Green Crescent’s
International Financial Assistance
Program for 2017 has now been
implemented in 26 countries,
including Afghanistan, Albania,
Australia,
Azerbaijan,
Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Congo (DRC),
Cyprus, Georgia, Indonesia, Kenya,
Kosovo,
Kyrgyzstan,
Lebanon,
Macedonia, Malaysia, Montenegro,
Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Palestine,
Serbia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and
Uganda. The International Financial
Assistance Program for 2019 is
currently being developed.
Areas of activity
The following activities are carried
out
under
the
International
Financial
Assistance
Program:
“To adapt the content of the
prevention tools developed by Green
Crescent in the fields of prevention
and advocacy concerning the
fight against addiction to the
socioeconomic conditions of the
related country, and to undertake
field works; to form national
and
international
cooperation
networks; and to enhance regional
interactions
between
National
Green Crescents, allowing them to
acquire the necessary physical and
technical resources that will allow
themto operate efficiently; to screen
literature to determine addiction
risks at regional and national levels;
and to report the findings after focal
group studies.”

Competition

provincial,
regional or national levels;

To adapt the content of TBM
(Addiction Prevention Training
Program of Turkey) and to
implement theprogram(training
formatters/instructors/peer
instructors);

of My Club Green Crescent
Project;

To organize a short video
competition and a communication
campaign;

To inform the young people,
parents and other stakeholders
on the perils of addiction,
and to organize seminars and
workshops in order to raise
awareness;

To set up Green Crescent clubs
in universities;
•
To promote the National Green
Crescent; to inform the public
through stands; and to involve
them as volunteers/members,
etc.
