We learned from

make a terrarium
and what to bear in
mind while making
it. In the end, we

LITTLE GARDENS
AT HOME
Derived etymologically from the word “terra” meaning
earth and soil, “terrariums” can be defined as little
dry habitats in glass jars decorated with various
materials. Recently, many people have started to
make terrariums at home as a hobby. Thanks to
terrariums, people are able to commune with nature
at home. Moreover, it is quite easy to make terrariums
which have visually aesthetic appeal. All you need is to
use right materials for design and find correct plants
to be placed within a bell jar. Actually people who live
in the forest or rural areas collect terrarium plants
from around rather than buying them. But people
who live in cities mostly buy them since they can not
find it in the environment. Fortunately, we who live
in cities, have the chance to find different types of
glass bell jars. The most important thing to pay
attention when you buy plants for your terrarium
is that all plants should have similar enviromental
needs. Besides, you should classify the plants you
bought according to the bell jar. For instance, plants
which enjoy the full sun should be put in an open-
tapped bell jar. On the other hand, plants which
need high humidity should be placed with a full
covered bell jar. And the soil should also be selected
according to type of plants. And as a piece of advice:
Do not prefer plants that grow fast. Succulents and
cactuses are the best
for terrariums.
