A
fter being introduced to drugs
at a young age, A.E. managed to
take back control of her life thanks
to the Green Crescent Training and
Counseling Center (YEDAM). The
most significant harm to befall A.E.,
who had been deeply shaken by the
death of her beloved grandmother,
came from the person closest to her,
who she trusted more than anyone
else. Her boyfriend offered her drugs,
saying “You will no longer be so
upset by your grandma’s death.” A.E.
accepted the offer, believing “just
once” would do no harm, but her life
turned into a nightmare, and it was
only the Green Crescent Training and
Counseling Center that could bring an
end to her misery. A.E. is now looking
at life through a happier window.
“Substances ruined my life”
A.E. explained to the psychologists
of the Green Crescent Training and
Counseling Center how quickly drugs
can take over life: “From the very first
day I used thedrug, I became addicted,
and felt the need to increase the dose
every day. That is how I began to lose
myself and experience material and
moral problems. I stole money and
credit cards from my parents to buy
drugs. After a while, I left home. I
started to sleep in buildings that were
under construction, and stayed at the
houses of people I had just met. With
feelings of misery, disgrace and pain,
I spent my days stealing. I had no
choice but to make money from my
own body to buy drugs.”
“I took control of life again with
YEDAM”
Although A.E. made several efforts to
rid herself of her substance addiction,
she could not find a solution. First,
she tried to cure herself by shutting
herself away at home and using non-
prescription medication, but she
failed. It was then that she asked
her family for help. A.E. explained
how she applied to the Green
Crescent Training and Counseling
Center, which provides free psycho-
social services to addicts and their
relatives, and about the life-changing
treatment she received: “I applied
to the Green Crescent Training and
Counseling Center with my family.
After taking that first step that day,
I have now successfully completed
the first phase of my treatment. With
the support of the Green Crescent
Training and Counseling Center, I
came back to life. Thanks GREEN
CRESCENT. ”
“THANKS GREEN CRESCENT”
Deeply shaken by the death
of her beloved grandmother,
A.E. accepted the drugs
offered by her boyfriend,
who said “They will help you
forget your pain”, but her life
became a nightmare. A.E.,
who lost four years of her
life to drugs, is now looking
at life through a different
window thanks to the Green
Crescent Training and
Counseling Center.
