Peyami Çelikcan was born in Ankara on 25th of December, 1961. He was graduated from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, Faculty of Communication, Ankara University in 1986. He started working as a research assistant at Gazi University in 1987. By having YÖK scholarship, he went to the U.S.A for his master’s degree in 1988. He graduated from the Communication Arts Department, University of West Florida in 1990 by having master’s degree in the field of communication arts. He got his Ph.D. in the field of cinema and television, 9 Eylül University in 1994.
He worked as the Dean of Faculty of Communication, Eastern Mediterranean University and Maltepe University between 2003- 2013. Lastly he was appoited as the Dean of Faculty of Communication, İstanbul Şehir University. Çelikcan has been studying on communication sciences, cinema-television, popular culture, media history, and documentary film. He has been also producing documentary films as documentary film maker and script writer.
She was born in 1963. She received the primary, secondary, and high school education in Burdur, Turkey. In 1986, she graduated from Anadolu University Faculty of Communication Sciences. She did a master’s degree in Educational Communication and Planning between 1987 and 1989. She received her PhD in the Department of Education Technology. She worked at Anadolu University at the Faculty of Education as research assistant, teaching assistant, and teaching fellow between 1990 and 2005. She managed the Prime Ministry Directorate General of Family and Social Studies between 2006 and 2011. She was a ministerial counsellor in the Ministry of Family and Social Policies between 2011 and 2013. She worked as a teaching fellow in the Department of Educational Sciences at Istanbul Commerce University Faculty of Science and Letters. She is still holding the ministerial position in the Ministry of Family and Social Policies. She has national and international publications in fields such as educational sciences, learning-teaching, educational communication, techno-psychology, and family education.
Faruk Aşıcıoğlu graduated from Istanbul University- Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine at 1985. He worked at different departments of the Turkish Ministry of Health until 1991. He had specialist degree in Forensic Medicine (1994), Associate Professor (2004), Professor (2014). He also had Ph.D. degree in Medical Biology(2006).
He worked consecutive 22 years at the Council of Forensic Medicine, the Turkish Ministry of Justice, respectively at the Q&D drepartment (1994-2000), Biology Department (2000-2003; as a director) and as a chairman of the 5th Committee (the supreme expertise organ about forensic toxicology, narcotics, alcohol and genetics in Turkey) of the Council between 2003-2014. He works now as a Professor at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, University of Istanbul.
Besides many national and international published articles, he wrote five books in Turkish at the Forensic field. He has active role as a member at many national and international scientific organisation. He is the founder and still president of The Turkish Association of Questioned Document examination, and The Turkish Association of Forensic Biology, Genetics and Gene Law . He is also national expert of Early Warning System of TUBIM which is the Turkish Focal Point of EMCDDA (European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction).
Prof. Dr. Osman Tolga Aricak received his B.A. degree in Counseling and Guidance Program from Istanbul University in 1993, M.A. degree in Psychological Services in Education in 1995 and Ph.D. in Educational Sciences from the Marmara University at Istanbul in 1999. He worked at Trakya University, Indiana University, Tulane University, Fatih University, and Harvard University respectively. He is currently professor of psychology in the Department of Psychology at Hasan Kalyoncu University in Turkey. He is interested in methodology and statistics in psychology. His current research focused on cyberbullying among children. He is member of American Psychological Association, International School Psychology Association, and Turkish Counseling and Guidance Association.
He was graduated from Marmara University School of Medicine in 1990. He worked as a general practitioner for 3 years. Then he started residency training in public health at Marmara University. After being a public health specialist, he worked for private sector on quality management consulting and auditing. He then served as assistant professor at the Department of Health Management of Marmara University. He became a member of The Steering Committee of National Health Care Accreditation System of Ministry of Health in 2004-2005. He then worked as senior training and research coordinator for Ministry of Health in 2008-2009. He received B.A. degree in business administration in 2009. Lastly, he was assigned as the first Public Health Director of Istanbul in 2012 where he was responsible for fight against tobacco, alcohol and substance. At the end of his two-year term, he returned to Marmara University. He is still working at Istanbul Medeniyet University and is married has 3 children.
He was born in 1979 in Konya. He graduated from Selçuk University Faculty of Theology in 2002. He finished his master’s degree with his work titled "The Relation Self-realisation and Piety" In 2009, he completed his doctorate with his thesis titled "The Role of Piety and Emphaty in Prosocial Behaviour". He became an associate professor in 2012. He still works as a faculty member at Department of Psychology of Religion at Marmara University Faculty of Theology. Assoc. Prof. Ayten focuses on the relation between religion and health. He is married and has two children.
He graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1991. He completed his psychiatry specialization in Bakırköy Training and Research Hospital for Psychiatry, Neurology and Neurosurgery in 1996. In the same year, he started working as the head assistant in Alcohol Drug Research, Treatment and Education Centre (AMATEM), and he became Assoc. Prof. in 2006. In 2010, he took over the position of clinic director of AMATEM. He has up to 200 National and International scientific publications and book chapters in the field of alcohol drug addiction. He is still responsible for AMATEM Alcohol department, Editor of Düșünen Adam: Journal of Psychiatry and Neurological Sciences, president of Bakırköy Research and Advanced Education Centre (BARİLEM) and Member of Scientific Meeting Arrangement Board of Turkish Psychiatry Association.
After completing his high school education at the Ankara Science High School and the Faculty of Medicine at the Ege University, completed specialization at Ege University Medical School Department of Psychiatry. He has over than 150 articles published in national and international journals, presented at scientific meetings, and 6 books published. He is the founder of Ege University Child and Adolescent Addiction Substance Center. At 2008, has been the Founding President of the Substance Abuse, Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Sciences Institute. He is continuing his research and graduate studies at Ege University Substance Abuse Center. He works in many science committees at the ministry level in the field of drug addiction. He has lot of cooperation with the international agencies for the prevention and treatment of substance use in Turkey. Development of the professional definition of addiction counseling, creation and dissemination of multidisciplinarity in addiction, and molecular studies in addiction are the main areas of interest. He is married and father of two children.
She graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Letters in 1990. She received master’s degree in Psychological Services in Education (1993), and Ph. D. in Psychological Services in Education in 1999. She started working as the assistant professor in Istanbul University, Hasan Ali Yucal Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Sciences in 2001. She became associate professor in 2010. She is stil working as a associate professor at Istanbul University, Hasan Ali Yucal Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Sciences. Her research interest include family therapy, child abuse and theoretical orientations.
He received an MA from Istanbul University, Department of Sociology. His MA thesis was entitled “Life Strategies of the Indigent: The Districts of Küçük Mustafa Paşa and Balat (Istanbul) as Cases in Point.” Then, at the same department, he completed his doctoral dissertation that entitled “Urban Intervention in The City of Istanbul (1980-2010).” His research interests include urban interventions, urban and politics, gentrification, housing, poverty, sociology of space, family, media, technology addiction and sociology of aging. He is the co-editor of Addicta: The Turkish Journal on Addictions and Turkish Journal of Business Ethics.
Duygu Dinçer is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance at Ibn Haldun University. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychological Counseling and Guidance from Istanbul University, in 2006, her MA degree in Psychology from Mugla Sitki Kocman University, in 2013 and her Ph.D. degree in Psychological Counseling and Guidance from Marmara University, in 2017 respectively. From 2010 to 2011 she worked at Mugla Sitki Kocman University and from 2012 to 2016 she worked at Marmara University as a research assistant. Also, she was a visiting scholar at University of Leuven (Belgium) in 2011 and the University of California, Berkley (USA) in 2015. Her current research interests focus on culture, emotion psychology, couple and marriage counseling, positive psychology, existential psychology, gender, literature criticism, quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Tuba Topçuoğlu is Assistant Professor of Criminology at Istanbul University Law Faculty since 2013. She received her MPhil degree in criminological research in 2006 and then her PhD in criminology at Cambridge University in 2011. Before, she had studied economics at University College London and obtained her M.Sc. in 2000. She received her BA in economics at Koç University in 1999. Her main research interests are quantitative research methods in criminology, comparative criminology, juvenile delinquency and crime prevention. She currently gives lectures to undergraduate and graduate students (Turkish and English) in several topics in criminology.
