AKKOYUN
Having received good drama education, Açelya Akkoyun
has starred inmany theater plays and TV series. “I have lo-
ved being approved, admired and applauded sincemy child-
hood,” said Akkoyun and added that the theater played a
significant role in shaping her nature in a goodway. She also
stressed that the desire to be appreciated is part of human
nature and naturally all artists performart to be approved.
Emphasizing the necessity of a family structure in touch
with its culture and showing sensitivity for values, Akkoyun
underlined that the television sector have the responsibility
to deliver the right message to people. Akkoyunwas given
“The Best Green Crescent Enthusiast Artist Award” in “The
Best of Green Crescent -The Phoenix Award Ceremony”
organized for the second time this year by the Green Cres-
cent Society under the auspices of the Turkish Presidency.
We had a nice conversationwith the beautiful actress who
opened her big and sincere heart to our magazinewhile
touching onmany issues ranging from theater and family
life to the televisionworld and addictions.
You are very sincere, compassionate and responsible. You
show this in every field. Within this context, are you able
to describe yourself?
Yes. I am plain. I am natural. My heart comes before my
logic. My logic doesn’t accept something that I cannot feel

and my heart doesn’t see. Even if you say it is correct,
what should I do with it if I am not happy? Above all, my
heart should be happy.
You have a very sweet daughter. We know that you are
responsible and devoted to responsibility. How does it
feel to be a mother?
As a mother, you carry a burden first in your belly and
then in your soul. That burden never ends. Of course,
this burden should not be perceived in a negative way.
That burden improves you at the same time. In other
words, you carry a big emotional burden. It has both
positive and I don’t want to say negative but there
are some hardships for you. I won’t say anything like
motherhood is sacred, because being sacred is a little
different. Motherhood is something you can feel. Even
if a person is not a mother, she should have the motive
and be sensitive. It is not a difficult craft but it is a pa-
instaking art.
How is Alya as a child?
Our life with Alya is active and we share everything. We
spend a great time together. Alya is an active, obedient
and warm-hearted child who is a little sensitive. She is
open to learning. She knows how spend time with her

Crescent Enthusiast Artist Award”, Akkoyun spoke to Green Crescent Magazine about
motherhood, the points to pay attention to while raising children and her daughter Alya.
She is sensitive about almost every issue, but she drew attention to addictions by saying
“the most beautiful mind is a healthy mind”.
