TheGreenDetector isamobileapp intended
tourgemorebusinessesandcustomers tocomply
with thebanon theuseof tobaccoproducts in
enclosedor semi-enclosedspacesand to reduce
violations.Theappwasdeveloped toensure
compliancewith thebanonsmoking inall indoor
spaces,whichwas imposed in2008, toprotect the
rightsof non-smokersbycreatingawareness in
societyabout violationsand to informthemabout
their legal rights. Launched incoordinationwith
theHealthMinistry, theappallowsusers to report
at violationswith theexact location, bysending the
coordinatesof thevenue.Theviolationnotification is
thendirected toasystemdevotedbytheHealthMinistry
to theGreenDetector, andeventually tofield teams.
Field inspectorswill arriveat thevenuewhere theban is
reportedlyviolated, check if theban isbeingviolatedand
takenecessaryactions.Thus, the rightsof non-smoking
customerswill beprotectedandviolationswill be reduced to
aminimumbyensuringcompliancewith theban. Inaddition toall
these, TurkishGreenCrescent carriesout, throughcollaborations
withdomesticand international partners, communication
andawareness campaignsabout tobacco, alcohol
anddrugs thatmake tremendous impact.

for local media representatives. Held in

avoid reporting about addictions in
an attention and curiosity
arousingmanner.
