ADDICTION
PREVENTIONTRAINING
PROGRAMOFTURKEY (TBM)
Having been put into practice with the cooperation of
the Green Crescent and the Ministry of National Education,
Addiction Prevention Training Program of Turkey (TBM)
prevention and protection program prepared by academics,
doctors, psychologists, and communication professionals, who
are experts in the field. Launched in 2014, TBM is the world's most
comprehensive prevention-based training program for fighting against
addiction. As part of the program, five school counselors from each
province were trained on different types of addiction and became TBM’s
trained educators. These trained educators, in turn, have provided one-
to-one education to 28,000 school counselors across Turkey. Within the
framework of this program, 28 thousand counselors have reached out
to 11 million students and 2 million adults so far. TBM offers contents
created by experts and tailored to different age groups in relation
to smoking, alcohol, drug and technology addictions and healthy
living. The program aims to reach nearly 20 million students
through school counselors, who have received training and
specialized in addictions.
