

MENTORING SUPPORT
FROM GREEN CRESCENT
TO NGOs
A Mentoring Program will be implemented in which experienced
National Green Crescent organizations engaged in the fight
against addictions in the international arena will pass on their
knowledge and experience to newly founded National Green
Crescent organizations and other NGOs fighting addiction.
Green Crescent hosts students
from 8 different countries
Under the International Internship
Program, Green Crescent provided
social sciences students from eight
differentwith theopportunity to join
their internship program. Students
enrolled in the programfromSerbia,
Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria,
Morocco, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan,
Azerbaijan and Indonesia, and had
the opportunity to intern at Green
Crescent
headquarters.
During
the course of their internship,
they gained an awareness of the
efforts to fight against addictions
and had the chance to attend
training courses in the Counseling
Centers of Green Crescent and
the Addiction Prevention Training
Program of Turkey (TBM), while
also participating in camps with
volunteers.
Professional support for different
occupational groups
The long-term program is aimed
at encouraging individuals from
different
occupational
groups
who will work as professionals in
addictions to contribute to the fight
against addiction. Green Crescent
aims to continue the International
Internship Program and to expand
its scope in the upcoming period.

laying an active role in the world
in the fight against addiction,
Green Crescent is implementing
the Mentoring Program so that
the
National
Green
Crescent
organizations fighting addiction in
the international arena can share
their knowledge and experience
with newly founded National Green
Crescent organizations and other
NGOs operating in this field. The
voluntaryMentoring Programcovers
a period of one year, and is intended
to develop beneficial relationships
between National Green Crescent
organizations and other NGOs.
The newly established National
Green Crescent organizations that
operate under the umbrella of the
International Federation of Green
Crescents (IFGC), as well as other
international NGOs working in the
field, will be able to fight addiction
more confidently when working
alongside
experienced
National
Green Crescent organizations.
Strong communication network
Through this program, international
NGOs will have the opportunity to
learn from the mentor National
Green Crescent organization, which
can aid in the creation of a plan
that will allow them to achieve their
goals and targets in the fight against
addiction.
These
organizations
will be able to actively request
information and advice from their
mentor, and ask for support on how
to use the information. The program
provides NGOs with an excellent
source of advice on specific projects
or activities, allowing individuals
to build a stronger connection with
their area of expertise.
Leadership and coaching support
Only the new members of IFGC and
other international NGOs operating
in the field of addiction can benefit
from the Mentoring Program. These
NGOs can receive support from
their mentor to take the initiative
to provide the best possible support,
to
set
concrete
performance
goals and to specify the expected
outcomes. The program offers
excellent opportunities to newly
founded National Green Crescent
organizations and other NGOs
engagedinthefightagainstaddiction
in allowing them to strengthen their
coaching and leadership skills,
and plays an important role in the
professional development of the
individuals involved.
