reen Crescent launched the Program on Improving
Wellbeing in the Workplace (İYİ) to form a healthy en-
vironment in the professional life and to contribute to
the motivation of employees. The objective of the İYİ project,
which will include information on addictions that have spiri-
tually and physically harmful effects on human health, is to
design training and activity programs for at companies and
employees participating in the project, increase employee
performance and efficiencies and create a healthier and hap-
pier workplace.
Positive effect on competition
While the training programwill make a positive contribution to the
competitiveness of companies with the increase in performance
and efficiency, it is highlighted that it will also increase the brand
value of the companies participating in the project. The project is
carried out in cooperationwith the Istanbul Public HealthDirector-
ate, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO) and Quality Association
(KALDER),with thesupport of the Istanbul DevelopmentAgency.
High cost for employees
Stating that an addict spends 18.2 percent of their daily work
hours smoking, Green Crescent stresses the following:

Smokers come towork 5.5 days less per year in
comparison to non-smokers.
u
The annual cost of a smoke-addict employee to their
employer is 1,400-5,700 TL.
u
The average performance of alcohol and drug addicts is
12 percent lower.

reen Crescent, which considers keeping youth away
fromaddictions and getting themto adopt a healthy life
as their mission organized a camp between September
19 and October 1. The camp hosted by the Youth and Sports
Ministry at the May 19 Youth Camp in Samsun was attended
by university students from all corners of Turkey. Youth had a
weekfilledwith social, cultural and sports activities at the camp
where theywere also given preventive training on addictions in
addition to social media and project cycle training. As many as
150 university students from around Turkey participated in the
camp which community role models also communicated with
the youth as part of the Green Stage.
Youth, who found the chance to participate in nature sports
during the course of the camp, are also building on their ex-
periences both socially and culturally through various classes.
University students, finding the chance to meet and mix with
others as part of these activities, returned to their hometowns
and schools with the motivation to talk about Green Crescent
with the knowledge and energy they gained.
Green Crescent has Young Green Crescent clubs at 86 univer-
sity across Turkey. Green Crescent camps aiming to help youth
gain life skills and guide them on how to utilize their spare time,
backed by the Youth and Sports Ministry, will continue to bring
youth together with nature and healthy living.
