World-Renowned Photographer
Bispuri’s Exhibition “Hidden Stories”
At the 2nd International Drug Policies
and Public Health Symposium held by
Green Crescent on November 26–27,
2018, the perils of drug addiction were
depicted through the lens of world-
renowned Italian photographer Valerio
Bispuri. Bispuri’s “Hidden Stories”
exhibition, based on a concept of “For the
Sake of Humanity”, portrayed substance
addiction and its perils from an artistic
point of view. In the exhibition, Bispuri
described the destruction wreaked by
addictive substances on society and
individuals with striking frames, and
showing how the damage caused by
addiction knows no borders, races
or nations, particularly through his
photographs of the hideous dramas of
people living in the suburbs in South
America.
Bispuri said that he was very happy
to have the opportunity to exhibit his
photographs in such a meaningful
context at the 2nd International Drug
Policies and Public Health Symposium:
“When I took the pictures, I saw the
dramatic consequences of addiction,
the people who suffered. I witnessed
that the harm done by addiction knows
no borders, races or nations,” he said.
Valerio Bispuri has won many awards,
including Japan’s 9th Day in 2013, the
International Journalism Award and the
