Thousands of cyclists from all across Turkey take part in the Cycling Tour organized by Green Crescent every
year to draw attention to the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. The Cycling Tour, during which messages raising
awareness of the fight against addiction were disseminated, went beyond the borders of Turkey, being held
also in Kyrgyzstan and Kosovo this year.
E
ngaged in activities aimed at raising awareness of the
fight against addiction, Green Crescent drew attention
to the benefits of a healthy lifestyle by joining up with
thousands of cyclists from 50 provinces in Turkey, and
from Kosovo and Kyrgyzstan, for the Cycling Tour that
has become somewhat of a tradition. The Istanbul leg of
the tour, organized in cooperation with the Association of
Cyclists, was held with the participation of 3,500 people on
a 19-km course that was closed to traffic on the Historic
Peninsula. The event was joined by a large number of
competitors of all ages, starting at the Basketmakers’
Kiosk, as the Headquarters of Green Crescent. Residents
of Istanbul of all ages gave messages of their awareness of
the fight against addiction. Justice and Development Party
Istanbul deputy Ravza Kavakçı also joined the Istanbul
event in support of the struggles of Green Crescent.
“Everyone has a reason for health”
Green Crescent is a role model in the world as a result of its
operations, is preparing to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
