3rd International Congress of Technology Addiction in Istanbul

The third International Congress of Technology Addiction hosted by the Turkish Green Crescent Society will bring together specialized experts on technology addiction in Istanbul on May 3rd and 4th, 2016.

Being organized by Culture, Society and Family Association and the Ministry of National Education in 2012 and 2013, the International Congress of Technology Addiction will be organized by the Turkish Green Crescent Society.

In the congress there will be panels and conferences on topics such as pathologic internet usage, video gaming addiction, mobile phone addiction, cyberbullying and cyber security, social media, online gambling, postural disorders, and shopping addiction. The congress will create a platform for speakers to share their research and to keep the experts informed and follow the innovations. Furthermore, participants will be able to look at the same issue from different aspects and will be able to engage into further discussions.

In the first International Congress of Technology Addiction, some of the speakers were Prof. Susan Greenfield, Prof. Mark Griffiths, Prof. Kultegin Ogel, Dr. David Greenfield, Dr. Aric Sigman, and Dr. Chien Chou. In the second congress, specialists and researches such as Prof. İlhan Yargıç, Asst. Prof. Michael Rich, Prof. Gary Small, Prof. Alexander Voiskounsky, Prof. Mark Bauerlein, Dr. Tao Ran, Dr. Cherly Olson shared their knowledge and experience within the field.

The third congress will feature specialist such as Prof. Mark Griffiths, Gary Wilson, Dr. Kenneth Woog, Mary Sharpe, Dr. Michael Rich, Darryl Mead, and Young Yim Doh.

Free of charge and open to anyone, the third International Congress of Technology Addiction expects 1200 participants including psychologists, social workers, school counsellors, and families.
