The 4th International Congress of Technology Addiction

The 4th International Congress of Technology Addiction was held in Istanbul on November 27–28, 2017, under the leadership of Green Crescent in collaboration with the Culture, Society and Family Association (KULT). Throughout the two-day congress, leading experts and participants in the field spoke on such behavioral addiction issues as mobile phones, online gaming, public health and addiction, online gaming in children, Internet and social media, and cyberbullying.

Participating in the congress, which was inaugurated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, were 35 speakers from 15 countries, all of whom were experts in their respective fields. During the congress, which was attended by approximately 2,000 people, behavioral addiction issues such as mobile phones, online gaming, public health and addiction, online gaming in children, the Internet and social media, as well as cyberbullying, were addressed. The congress, which included 30 presentations and five poster presentations across 11 sessions, was attended by scientists, mental health experts, delegates of local governments, young people and students.

The 4th International Congress of Technology Addiction, sought to provide local and international institutions, organizations and scientists with the opportunity to develop new strategies and alternative approaches in the field of technology addiction, to raise awareness in society against technology addiction and to contribute to the raising of generations who are aware of the need for the conscious use of technology.

Taking part at the 4th International Congress of Technology Addiction were 35 speakers from 15 countries, including such experts in their fields as Prof. Marc Potenza from Yale University, Prof. Jae Hook Lee from Indiana University, Prof. Kemal Sayar, Prof. Nabi Avcı, Prof. Daria Kuss, Dr. Jiang Long, Prof. Wei Hao, Dr. Alyaziya Al-Mazrouei, Dr. Afarin Rahimi-Movaghar, Dr. Esra Albayrak, Prof. Medaim Yanık and Prof. Peyami Çelikcan, who spoke on the issue of technology addiction.
