More Than 1,500 Cyclists Take Part in Green Crescent L’Étape Türkiye Ride

The L’Étape Türkiye by Tour de France public ride, held in collaboration with the Turkish Green Crescent Society, brought more than 1,500 cycling enthusiasts together for a 20-kilometer ride through Istanbul’s historic and cultural setting.

The ride started at Sepetçiler Pavilion, passed through Karaköy, Beşiktaş, Balat, and Eyüpsultan, and finished back at Sepetçiler Pavilion.

Commenting on the event, Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Dinç, President of the Turkish Green Crescent Society, said, “A life free from addiction is one of the best choices we can make—a choice that brings joy, enthusiasm, and excitement to our lives. At Green Crescent, we see sports as a powerful way to support both physical and mental well-being and help protect people from addiction. Today’s event is a reminder of the unifying power of sports and its ability to bring us together in support of healthy, addiction-free living.”  

Hasan Siret Albayrak, Vice President of the Green Crescent Sports Club, said, “By bringing the excitement of the Tour de France, one of the world’s most iconic sporting events, to Istanbul’s unique historic setting, we aim to make sports more accessible to everyone and help foster a stronger cycling culture. We hope to see healthy and beneficial activities such as sports take the place of harmful habits.”

Green Crescent Highlights the Role of Sports in Preventing Addiction

The public ride was organized as part of Green Crescent’s healthy living approach, a key component of its addiction prevention efforts, and helped promote cycling and active lifestyles in Türkiye.

Following the ride, participants received commemorative medals, and five participants won bicycles in a prize draw.
