Addicta Reviewer Training Program Held During ICBA 2026

An Addicta Reviewer Training Program was held at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul on August 23, 2026, as a side event of the 11th International Conference on Behavioral Addictions (ICBA 2026).

The training brought together Addicta reviewers and invited academics involved in the journal’s peer-review process. The program focused on key aspects of academic peer review, including the principles of effective reviewing, what editors look for in peer-review reports, publication ethics, the evaluation of research methods, common errors in scholarly articles, and the use of artificial intelligence in academic publishing.

The training featured presentations by Prof. Hakan Coşkunol, Prof. H. Volkan Kara, Prof. İbrahim Emre Bora, Assistant Professor Halime Yıldırım Hoş, Dr. Hüseyin Ozan Torun, Assistant Professor Yasin Kavla, and Hüseyin Körpeoğlu of AKDEMA Bilişim ve Yayıncılık. Alongside the presentations, participants worked through practical exercises focused on evaluating scholarly articles and preparing peer-review reports.

The program also examined transparency, reproducibility, conflicts of interest, and ethical responsibilities in academic publishing, with a focus on international publishing standards.

The training aimed to strengthen Addicta reviewers’ knowledge and practical skills in the peer-review process.
